Penny is the secondary protagonist of "The Rescuers" (the two primary ones being Bernard and Miss Bianca). She is an adorable, sweet, gutsy, brave, plain-looking and very beautiful 8 year old orphaned girl from Morningside Orphanage in New York City. She has shoulder-length dirty blonde hair tied in two pigtails with blue rubber bands, a gap between her front teeth like Terry-Thomas and wears a white polo shirt, blue jumper, frilly white panties, dark grey stockings and brown Mary Jane loafers during the day, a yellow floor-length nightgown and barefoot at night and wears a pink hooded winter coat and matching snow boots over her regular clothes when she is adopted. She was friends with an elderly cat named Rufus until Madame Medusa and Mr. Snoops abducted her. She is carried upside down by her underwear with her belly button showing. She is the one who represents the fact that if one has enough faith, dreams can come true, or as Rufus said, "faith makes things turn out right". She carries a teddy bear (who happens to resemble Winnie-the-Pooh, minus a red t-shirt) and expects whoever adopts her to adopt him too. She is voiced by Michelle Stacy.
