The Blue Fairy is a supporting character in Pinocchio, and one of only two important females, the other being the goldfish Cleo. Despite her name, it is only her dress and shoes that are blue, while she is a white woman with blond hair and red lips. She is the one who grants Gepetto's wish by bringing Pinocchio to life. But he is not a real boy because she tells him to prove himself brave, truthful and unselfish first. Laughing she gives Jiminy cricket the job of being his conscience.
